Lactic acid

Lactic acid has deep keratolytic actions. It promotes renewal of cells and it has moisturizing and tensing properties.

Glycolic acid

Probably the best-known Alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) derived from sugar cane. The use of AHAs to improve the appearance of the skin dates back to Egyptian and Roman times, Cleopatra bathed in sour milk containing naturally occurring AHAs.

Glycolic acid has the smallest molecular structure of any AHA and can therefore penetrate the surface of the skin. Glycolic acid removes dead skin cells leaving the skin fresher and smoother. Glycolic is useful combined with other ingredients as it takes other ingredients with it to go deeper into the skin.

Citric acid

AHA derived from citrus fruits. Loosens dead surface skin cells, regulates cell renewal and helps pH balance skin.
It is used as a preservative, pH balancer, and astringent.

Salicylic acid

Salicylic acid is perfect for oily and acne-prone skins due to its bacteriostatic, sebum-regulating & keratolytic action.
