About Microsclerotherapy

Thread Veins or spider veins can be unsightly and can be embarrassing to who ever has them, causing some people to cover their legs even on hot days.

Thread Veins can be genetic or caused by trauma. Normally blood travels through healthy veins up to the heart but spider veins, are abnormally dilated veins that cannot perform their function properly.

Microsclerotherapy is a well known treatment worldwide for unwanted thread veins on the legs. The procedure consists of injecting a small amount of Sclerosant Solution into thread veins on the legs. The solution irritates the lining of the vein causing it to swell and stick together. Compression is applied for a few days to ensure the desired effect.

The treatment is minimally invasive is not normally painful as the Sclerosant has a local anaesthetic effect. Depending on the size of the problem, the treatment is usually quick to carry out.

There is no 'down-time' for the client and more than 75% of the treated veins will disappear. Clients are usually extremely satisfied with the results.

Adverse effects are rare. Side effects occur occasionally, mainly bruising or short term pigmentation which will soon fade.

The Treatment
An average of 3-6 treatment of about 30 minutes each. Each client needs a prescription by a Doctor this allows unlimited treatment of that client for 12 months.
