TCA
The TCA (Trichloroacetic acid) peel works by sloughing off the upper layers of skin. These are often damaged by elements such as sun, wind and ageing.

By removing the upper layers of skin, the overall skin texture is smoothed, superficial wrinkles are eliminated and hyperpigmentation problems are improved.

TCA has been used for many years to treat facial wrinkles, age spots, pigment abnormalities, and other superficial skin problems such as sun damaged skin. Including, freckles, appearance of fine lines and
wrinkles, and the appearance of Superficial scars.

When TCA is applied to the skin, it causes the top layers of cells to dry up and peel off over several days. When the old skin has peeled off, it exposes a new layer of undamaged skin which has a smoother texture and more even colour.

TCA is a deeper peel than other superficial peels. Because it is a deeper treatment, “downtime” will be approximately one week. During this time of peeling and healing, patients will be required to keep their facial skin moist with silkses at all times. Sunscreen use as with all p
eels is also very important.
